With sparrow numbers declining by 68% in the UK, its time for urban gardeners to make their gardens more friendly to our native species. This extract is from the BBC

A series of cold fronts swept southeastwards on Sunday (26th), clearing the southeast by evening. This left a much clearer, but cooler northwesterly airflow, bringing an unstable polar maritime airmass.

Weather events from years gone by for month of November.

1st November 1965 - Three giant power station cooling towers collapsed in air turbulence at Ferrybridge, Yorkshire.

4th November 1946 - Air temperature reached 21.7c at Prestatyn, Clwyd.
