When I was younger I loved cars and bikes (still do) and spent a lot of my hard earned on them one way or another, so I thought I would go down memory lane *~~wavy lines~~*

To those not so long in the tooth some of these may be strange but at the time...wooo hooo better than a night with your bird *almost*

Bikes owned some good some bad :
British bikes : BSA Bantam, BSA A65 Lightning, Triumph T150 and T160 Tridents.
Jap Bikes :Honda CB125 and CB250, CB500/4 ,CB750/4F1, Kawasaki Z900 B1 Z650 (two) Z500 and Z750 triples (these where beasts).
Italian : Laverda Jota, Ducati 250 desmo and a Ducati 900ss , Motoguzzi Lemans mk1.
Dream bikes I never managed to own a MV Agusta and a Hesketh!

Cars owned mostly bad but some good : Morris Minor, Robin Reliant Van (yes I know I was broke) Ford Capri MK1 3 litre V6 Dolomite Sprint and various escort vans!
Dream cars of that area that I could not afford are Escort mk1 Mexico / rs2000 , Savage Cortina and Tickford Capri's and of course a triumph Stag none of which I ever got a sniff of! There are others but the list would be too long.

Over the later years I have had the usual parade of boring family cars plus a few fun cars like the Honda CRX Mk2 (crx cup car) Mitsubishi Colt GTI and a Audi quatro but the exception was a 911 Porsche but this broke my bank account and it had to go. I also managed to grab a Laverda Montjuic in 2000 which was a bad boy bike of its era (early 80's) very very loud and I loved it I even one a classic bike show shield with it cos nobody else had one...lol.

Oh well now I will get back to paying the mortgage etc and remember how it used to be....

Corrrre Blimey M8 !
When I was a teenager (now feeling OLD) I used to get about on a Honda C90 (old version - not for wimps). Used to travel between York and Hull a few times (40+ miles) up and down dale. Would go up Market Weighton hill at about 10mph but coming down it I'd hit 50mph.... the bike was designed for a top speed of 40mph. I got my bike license before my car as my wages only came to £1250 per YEAR.
I managed to wangle my driving lessons thru the company I was working for at a time you could get a lesson for £10 ! I passed my test first time and for my 18th Birthday my parents bought a Poo Brown Mini for me.... cost a huge amount of money £100.
It served me well for a few years until I mis-judged a hump back bridge... Yes I took off but managed to land the car nicely only unbeknown to me I had cracked the sub frame. A few months later it was due for its MOT..... I travelled around with virtually no brakes for a couple of weeks before hand. Needless to say it failed its MOT and I got a whole £30 for the mini (it would be worth a fortune today ). I progressed onto driving my hubbies car a Vauxhall Cavalier mk1 hatch in ice green. Then a Vauxhall Nova mk1 in poo brown. We the Cavalier in for a bran spanking new Peugeot 205 GLD.... best car I ever had. We eventually started having problems with that one and traded it for a Ford Sierra estate. I remember driving that sideways down a country road in deep snow .... not recommended.... steer clear of rear wheel drive vehicles in snow thankfully the other car managed to stop far enough back for me to correct the directional problem.
Hubby then got a company car Citreon Xantia.... cool car up down up down up down.... and thats just the suspension. I then bought another Vauxhall Nova mk1. We had to give the xantia back when he moved jobs so we bought a Volvo 240 Estate..... a tank ! it ended up with catalytic converter problems and bled the bank dry so gave it away to a mechanic. In the meantime Hubby had a midlife crisis and bought a TREV car... Volkswagon Golf GTI, lowered suspension, low profile tyres & bubble exhaust... I ended up driving it more than him as another new job later he travelled by train to This car caused a stir when I was driving it as the boys used to do a double take with a woman driving it. Next came my dads old Vauxhaul Cavalier Colorado bright red less than average mileage and it served us well until Hubby parked it up a telegraph pole backwards. Next came the Land Rover Discovery 2.5 TDi..... loved it dearly and still miss it but it became a HUGE financial strain on the bank account and was sold for parts. We then bought a Vauxhal Zarifa.....boring and lame after the Drover ! During the middle of that I also owned a Honda CB550-Four two wheeled monster of a bike eventually sold that for nappies !
Caused more damage to myself with the Honda C90 than I ever did on the Honda CB550-Four. Ended up with torn ligaments and tendons falling off the C90 at 3 mph, crashed into the back of a car and wrenched both shoulders... could barely move the shoulders for two weeks. Oh and I was knocked of the C90 by a Solicitor on the way to an interview.... btw I got the job after turning up in a right state !!!! Left 2 weeks later (lmao). Only ever dropped the 550CC once and it was turned off and not quite on its stand ! No injuries.
